A car crash can happen in the blink of an eye, with victims sustaining serious injuries to the brain, head, and neck. Such injuries could require long-term care before the victim is fully healed and rehabilitated. So when a victim suffers a traumatic brain injury at the hands of another, a personal injury lawsuit may be one way for them to recover not only medical expenses, but for future therapy and rehabilitation services as well.
Recently, a four-vehicle crash in California sent four people to the hospital with severe injuries. According to police, one driver was headed east when it struck another vehicle in an intersection. The eastbound vehicle was then sent colliding into a third vehicle. A fourth vehicle was also involved in the accident, but it is still not known how. Two of the drivers suffered serious to critical head injuries, and the two other drivers sustained moderate injuries as well.

When a car accident victim suffers a head injury, the recovery process could require numerous follow-up visits. Victims may seek compensation in a court of law for their injuries. When that happens, the courts will rely on a doctor’s medical evaluation to determine the amount of compensation the victim may recover. The medical evaluation will not only take into account the immediate treatments received at the hospital but also future treatments necessary for the victim to recover fully. Medical evaluations can also be useful in determining whether a victim is able to work and live independently.

Victims of traumatic brain injuries could face a long recovery process. A proper medical evaluation could prove essential in determining what compensation a victim could receive in a court of law.
