Q. WHY CHOOSE THE LAW OFFICES OF MARVIN STUART LANTER? A. There are many lawyers in Southern California, but most do not go to court. Even fewer have actually tried a case in front of a jury. I have tried in excess of 40 cases, 20 to a jury verdict. I am a highly qualified trial attorney. Further, I am committed to the legal system. I am devoted to helping my clients recover the maximum compensation for their injury. Q. HOW DOES A CONTINGENCY FEE CONTRACT WORK? A. My office will work on a contingency basis, where the firm will take its fee as a percentage of their client's recovery; if no recovery is made, the client does not have to pay anything for the legal services rendered by my office. I understand that most people cannot pay an hourly fee of $300 and up, that most large defense firms charge. Q. WHAT PERCENTAGE WILL I HAVE TO PAY AS A CONTINGENCY FEE? A. As compensation, the firm is to receive a fee 33-1/3% of all gross amounts recovered if the claim is settled before the filing of a law suit or demand for arbitration, or 40% thereafter of all amounts received whether, by recovery, settlement, award, verdict or judgment. Q. HOW MUCH IS MY CASE WORTH? A. There is no formula for determining the value of a case. In determining the value of a personal injury claim is part science, part art, and a large part persuasive skills. Each lawsuit has it own set of facts. No two situations are ever exactly the same. Each situation requires a unique analysis. Each person's injury is different and the effect on that person's life is unique. I carefully analyze each person's situation. At the initial stage of the case it is difficult to place a value on your case. I will be able to place a value at the time your medical condition stabilizes and the liability situation become clear. |
